Thank you for taking time to read about me and my inspiration.
I am a husband, stay home father of two beautiful daughters and of course a full time professional artist. I have been an
artist all my life, drawing with whatever I got my hands on. I am self taught in all aspects of what I do, driven by the curiosity
of the outcome. I think this is very important for the public to know, that me and many other artists never "quit" our jobs
to follow our passions, art IS my job, and always has been! I have managed to live "consistently" my entire art life, never
more than I need, and sometimes not enough of that. I've rarely been able to afford a glossy ad, and have relied on my own
ability as well as my many art galleries to get the word out about my art. I am the creator of my own unique style, and very
fortunate to have been given this opportunity to stand alone in my own category.
I traveled all over the country in my youth and perhaps this how I became fascinated with the beauty of the country side
I use in my art. My favorite places to live as a kid were Ft.Sill, OK and Ft.Hood, Texas, because of the "wild west" history
they preserved. My mom always painted, and got into silk screening, or serigraph art, pulling poster editions of "psychedelic"
art-way to go mom! I thought I had a wild imagination! So it is easy for me to assume I know where I got my interest in vivid
color.
After dropping out of college at UW-River Falls, I moved back to Texas, choosing Austin as my new home. This was in the mid
eighties, and what a great time! Austin was alive with Stevie Ray Vaughn and an art boom! I was introduced to my first art
gallery then , El Taller Gallery, and my work was overwhelmingly successful, like I said, good times! I am still represented
by El Taller today, as well as 13 other galleries across the nation including my own-
Art Gallery 66 located in Bernalillo, NM. Today I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and love the dry climate, big open skies
and the color and flavor that only the west can provide, especially for my imagination.
